W.I. meetings.

The WI. Meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at7pm at the community centre. They are a lively vibrant group who give a warm welcome to all new members. Their purpose is to further friendship and a spirit of warmth among women while passing their knowledge on to others, they organise trips to the theatre and places of interest (which I’m sure includes the odd shopping trip). They often have speakers covering a variety of subjects.

So why not join them? They would love to see you.

When you are a WI member you are never alone!

At a meeting in March a number of members read out poems covering a wide range of topics. The highlight being a homage to her mother by Jennifer Smith which added to the emotion of the night,   excerpt below also the “Back Page” at bottom:-

                                  MY MAM

The first thing I remember is you just being there

To wash me in the morning and comb my tangled hair

To sooth me if I fell down, to rub my injured knee

I never had to look for you, you were always there with me.
